A cute space with delicious food! I had the spring veggie flatbread which was piled high with greens and veggies, creating a light but filling meal. My partner had the sliders which were juicy and flavorful. We were trying to figure out their burger sauce the rest of the night because it was that good and we want to recreate it at home. Service was great, checked in when appropriate and didn't feel rushed.

Atmosphere--Stopped before going to Newark airport. Great atmosphere. I can imagine it's really lovely at night. The sun filtering was pretty, too. I think this would be an excellent date night choice. Food -- my husband got the sliders and fries. He loved the sliders. The fries were a little blond/undercooked. I'm vegetarian and got the little gem salad and herbed goat cheese app. Loved the bread that came with it the goat cheese, and the olive oil and herbs were perfection. Both the salad and the app had shaved crispy garlic that was nicely done. I can't recommend the salad because the lettuce was obviously not fresh. Service was very friendly and attentive. Daniel was our server, and he did a great job.

In town visiting from Virginia Beach. If you're looking for a nice quaint place to grab a bite. This is it! We went on a Tuesday night and it wasn't busy, I could hear the music but it wasn't drowning out our conversation. I heard on the weekends it can busier and louder. It's near the Prudential Center if you're going to an event. We ordered the grill chicken as an appetizer and they were delicious! We should've there but we ordered (3) sliders and fries which were recommended (a la carte). Our orders med well, and well-done got all mixed up by the time one order came out, she didn't want it. I usually order med well, a little pink but it was more pink than I desired. The sweet tea needed more syrup, I order a cocktail but I think it was a mock-tail. It was like kool-aid. I tasted no alcohol. As we waited for our Uber, Daniel B. came running out of the restaurant with my pocketbook. I'm so appreciative of his goodwill. He is the BOMB and that "smile" is infectious. Thanks again Daniel B

Lovely brunch place. Quiet and friendly. They have a lovely cocktail menu. Perfect for daytime drinking. Also good for late night. Need to go back to have food there

Went to see a show at NJPAC and was in search for a nightcap- I came across Burke's Tavern which used to be one of my favorite hang out spots and well known hole in the wall- Hell's Kitchen. It's safe to say the place has changed drastically! Romantic ambience, lots of seating and pretty bar, this place is the perfect spot for a date night. Not to mention, the bathrooms have been completely redone, thank goodness LOL I called ahead to find out if the kitchen was still open and although it was not, the gentleman on the phone promised to allow a pizza order if I was there soon. I tried the plain margherita pie, which was fresh and tasty. Check out their chili oil, not too spicy and perfect for finishing off on the crust. Drinks! The drinks were bomb at this place. The bartender Diego definitely knows what he is doing.. I am a rum lover, and he whipped up the perfect daiquiri. At the end of the night he was sweet enough to make a round of espresso martini shots so I could try. Add this awesome new place to your list, you will not be disappointed!

Stopped in for dinner and drinks with friends after being recommended this place from a few people. To start, service was great. The server explained in detail the plates and the drinks and gave us some recs. We ordered the gem salad, grilled buffalo wings and the pepperoni pizza. The gem salad- is basically a Caesar salad. It's one of the best I've had recently. The ingredients were fresh and seasoned really well. Grilled buffalo wings- sooo delicious. Not too spicy for those with a tolerance. The sauce is garlicky. Would order this over and over again. Pepperoni pizza- 10/10. Thin and the crust was amazing. The pepperoni was delicious too. Brick oven style Overall I really loved this place. It's pretty spacious with a bar sitting area too. The food was surprisingly good!! Im excited to return and try other menu items.

My absolute favorite place to go to in Newark! The food is superb. The Burke's sliders are a must. Each bite is so juicy and so rich and the portion size is perfect for an appetizer for two. Pairs super well with their fries which is on the crispier side. I also highly recommend the cacio e pepe pasta. It's super fresh, simple, but so amazingly good. My boyfriend always gets the chicken gochujang sandwich. It's messy to eat but so worth it. It has a nice tangy taste to it. Drinks are fantastic here. The bartenders are knowledgeable and very skilled. They're all super friendly too and really gives his place a local friendly vibe. The cocktails are delicately made and has so many layers of taste. Highly recommend. Also love their wine selection. Please give this place a go if you're in the area! Promise you won't regret it.

Rustic restaurant with a few seating options. I sat at the bar at chatted with a few regulars. Lots of craft beers but the best was Prosecco on tap. I ordered the goat cheese with herbs and Bangkok shrimp. Both were very good. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Clean Nice size portions Street parking.

Came here on a whim as we are staying at the Home2Suites near the airport. It's been years since I've been to the ironbound section of Newark as I moved from this area 6 years ago. Wife came across this place on yelp and we looked and decided as a group of 4 to go. We are so happy that we did. The food was delicious, fresh tasting, prepped to perfection and our waitress was spot on with refills and coming every so often at the perfect time, every time. The place is quaint and they control the lighting for each section which is nice. When we got our menus the lights were made brighter and once we started getting into our food, they were dimmed. Father in law got the pepperoni pizza (5/5) as he was kind enough to share and was cooked to perfection and the parm cheese on it was not skimped on. I also had the Burke sliders which were cooked to medium well as requested (4/5) and the lamb meatballs were amazing (5/5) as my appetizer. My wife for her main course the crispy chicken sandwich which she devoured as did my mother in law. MIL doesn't typically finish her meals, but she sure did this time.

Burke's Tavern is such a gem for the Ironbound area. The ambiance of the restaurant has a rustic feel and a lot of space. We really enjoyed our server, Vivian. She gave us a great recommendation on ordering the blueberry cheesecake. It was sublime! My partner and I shared it but we are definitely getting our own next time. If you decide to go, I recommend the cheeseburger sliders and the little gem salad!
